This exhibition features approximately 190 works from the Han dynasty, spanning about 400 years from 206BC–220AD. Centered on ceramics, the selection also includes lacquerware, metalwork, jade, and calligraphy rubbings. We hope that visitors can appreciate the aesthetic continuity of Han works of art as well as its modern sense of form through this diverse array of works, developed after the turbulent Warring States period and inherited from the unified Qin.

During this exhibition, we will also host an Instagram Live session in which our president Tadashi Kawashima will introduce highlights of the featured works.
