Four years have passed since our first exhibition of Song ceramics, and so it gives us great pleasure to present this second Song ceramics exhibition. This exhibition will center on Cizhou ware, a leading focus of Song ceramic collecting and appreciation in the early 20th century. Mayuyama & Co., Ltd. also began to handle Chinese ceramics at the beginning of the 20th century, concentrating on works for visual appreciation. Thus we can say that Cizhou wares are an extremely important ware type in our history. We hope that this exhibition will introduce the chic, modern and fascinating aspects of Cizhou ware to a wider audience. We also continue our utmost efforts regarding works from other kilns.
